miui keyboard apk

Your backups may listed in Chinese – this is due to an issue I had with Backup.apk, and sadly the FOLDERS themselves have been renamed. You will need to re-re(re?)name them if you are bothered by the Chinese. Installation instructions .... Woohoo! I'm LOVING this new browser. Quite slick and a definite upgrade! Getting weird semi random launcher FC's for some reason but otherwise I'm happy as larry. All I'd want for Xmas now is a MIUI keyboard upgrade :-) ...

Miui Keyboard Apk

Welcome to the home of the MIUI_Au ROM14Aug11 MIUI_Au 1.8.12 R1 – Stable Release – READ THE IMPORTANT NOTES before posting bugs. (Notable stuff)

Removed QuickBoot, RomManager and QuickSearchBar. I have not found much use for these (for example quickboot becomes superfluous with the 4-way reboot MOD).

The Market MAY force close. If it does, try changing your locale to Australia (as I can confirm it works for me). If the issue persists, when you post a bug report, state that you have tried to change the locale already.

If you encounter a HOT Reboot, ENSURE that you have disabled Permissions Management in SuperUser. I get angry when users disregard this. If the issue persists, state that you have already tried my suggestion.

Your backups may listed in Chinese – this is due to an issue I had with Backup.apk, and sadly the FOLDERS themselves have been renamed. You will need to re-re(re?)name them if you are bothered by the Chinese.

It had nothing to do with SU permissions, as this results in hot boots, I tried three different browsers but the same thing kept on happening, another user reported this same issue – I am hoping that it had something to do with the ‘supercharger’ addition which you have wisely left out of this release, will try the latest version and report back.

just a suggestion, but i ran a test for the last week, and by replacing the su binary and superuser.apk with the official 2.3.6.3 versions, i had no issues with permissions management, reboots etc, and everything else worked fine. might be an idea to possibly add that in each release, would drastically reduce the amount of people complaining. unless it causes other issues, but i havent noticed any.

I tried to do the same thing a few months ago, but there must have been some kind of dependencies (perhaps to do with call filtering, which now has it’s own APK).

My favorite Miui Au release so far. Stable, some minor problems that I’ve experienced in previous builds have gone. I’ve only noticed one bit of Chinese string in the network monitor (not an issue). Well done Fllash and Miui team, I’m mighty impressed. Thanks, a beer coming your way.

If you still have the zip file for 1.8.9-B1, open that up, navigate to /system/app and copy launcher2.apk from there to /system/app in the zip file for 1.8.12-R1.

Not advised – mixing versions usually has undesirable repercussions. The Launcher FC is because of the Extended Settings MOD – My merging of it into the ROM upset a few things. As such, I don’t think it is worth me putting directly into future releases.

This is not to say that the Extended Settings MOD is bad or anything – it’s fantastic – but just, in the scheme of things, not all that useful to me.

Coming from 1.7.29 with a dalvik cache and cache wipe and have again the missing-OK-button issue for the PIN input. Can’t access my phone as I cannot submit my PIN.

The launcher2.apk from 1.8.9B1 works fine. If you’re having troubles with the FC loop, grab launcher2.apk from /system/app/ in the 1.8.9B1 zip and drop it in 1.8.12′s /system/app.

I think 1.7.29 was the first release where the render in true colour option slowed down our Desires. If you are game, try giving 1.7.22 a shot.

I’ve removed Supermarket and Appshare from /system/app and YouTube from /data/app. Haven’t made any further mods to the original ROM though.

That’s… unsettling. May need to revert to an older ROM for the night and figure some things out tomorrow. Could be a corrupted ROM, but I’m doubting it’s got anything to do with my recent Recovery upgrade, being that I was able to flash 1.8.9 on it just fine.

The neverending Launcher FC doesn’t stop you from connecting the phone to USB, so even in the event that for some reason you had no backup, you would be able to grab a different ROM.

Just tried Geatre’s method with the 1.7.22 launcher2.apk instead of the launcher2.apk that comes with 1.8.12 – no more FC’s AT THE EXPENSIVE OF CRAZY WTF HOMESCREEN that’s unusable.

The only thing I still have in common with any of my other attempts at flashing 1.8.12 is that I’ve wiped/cache wiped/dalvik wiped every time I’ve tried installing so my next attempt will be a fresh install of 1.8.5 (modified), followed by an install of 1.8.120 right over that.

Lol. Okay, launcher2.apk from 1.7.22 doesn’t play nice with 1.8.5 either. Seems that in that slowdown we experienced between 1.7.22 and 1.7.29 there was something that changed about how MIUI uses the launcher, which leads docked icons to be on the top of the screen, and the dock itself to cover the entire homescreen rendering the icons on it unusuable. You can navigate with the scroll button, but you encounter four screen-length columns which respond to the docked icons if you touch it.

Therefore, I recommend the launcher bundled with 1.7.29 and above. Do keep in mind that launcher LOADS instead of FC’ing if you do it how Geatre did it, so he’s on the right track.

A few numbers are missing on the GB Keyboard and when I press the respective key, only the special letters such as Ö, Ä, Ü show up in the popup, but not the numbers.. very strange.

I always change keyboard taken from Oxygen ROM because I need Polish language support. You could do this before flash new ROM swapping LatinIME.apk in the zip file or after flash using adb push command.

One issue I am having with this release is with MIUI contact short cut widgets on the desktop and Audio Manager Pro profile short cuts in a desktop folder. After a reboot all the short cuts have disappeared, I re add them, reboot and they have gone again.

Hi, i’m having some weird problems in here. It started last month. I usually dont have problems on my internal storage since using MIUI (thanks to the A2SD+). But starting last month, without doing anything my space left is only 500kB. I reformatted my phone and install the latest MIUI, i didnt restore the previous applications instead install them one by one. My space left after that was 95MB. Days past, my storage was 75MB without installing anything, i even clear the cache of all the apps.. Days past again, storage came to 35MB again, without installing anything. Today it came down to 544KB.. I cleared Dalvik, cache partition and also install the latest MIUI – 1.8.9 and still my space left is only 544KB.. uninstalling some of the big apps (PVZ) didnt help since it was using the SD card because of ADSD+.. Please help, im running on options now, is there a way to identify what was causing this? Many Thanks!

Sadly, it would be impractical for me to test for this particular issue any further than I do – I restore a backup containing ~50 apps, and so far it has never run out of space.

i had been consistently getting issues as i continued to use a version. these problems were typically being amplified whenever I was flashing a new version [over the earlier one or a clean install]. I have just realised that the problems are linked to the large number of applications that I have been installing. I had moved a large number of applicaitons to SD card before this install, and it has worked like a dream.

I am not sure whether the issue pertains to a limitation on the phone internal memory or the ext3 partition [1 GB ] that I have. i feel it is more to do with phone internal memory. I would monitor and confirm if I can get a fix.

it would help if you could run this as a test in the release testing that is done. it would be a big help. there may be others who are facing a similar issue.

I’d be real wary about using Backup in this version. Attempting to backup apps and homescreen layout on this one causes the apps I’ve selected to disappear from the homescreen (not uninstalled, but inaccessible) – while not actually saving the backups of those apps.

Is anyone else experiencing a problem where the phone freezes when browsing the web? Its started since the previous version, may it have something to do with the new supercharger thing?

Woohoo! I’m LOVING this new browser. Quite slick and a definite upgrade! Getting weird semi random launcher FC’s for some reason but otherwise I’m happy as larry. All I’

answer is no. I already restart a couple of times. no single chance able to access it. since 1.8.5 release, Battery Monitor won’t work anymore. previous old version still work fine.

Found another problem.. when i install data2ext and try to install apps it says no more space left and i’ve got about 759mb . but @Fllash take a vacation for a week cause you need it, youre the best!

No – As I said, we only support A2SD. Anything additional configurations would increase the workload tremendously AND the number of issues encountered.

Jack-Off, don’t think so official MIUI are natively support other scripts too, other than native A2SD. there is miui rom that support D2W and D2E doesn’t meant is MIUI-Au fault. As Fllash already explained, MIUI-AU only support PClaren-A2SD.

Hi. My Android market force closes. but i got a soloution just download this android market http://megaupload.com/?d=GJZFK7D8 and install it and thats all.

Fllash i think that it may be a good idea to make this a sticky in the important notes section about the market fc issues (changing the locale)

Sadly, even if I did, people would still ask. The thing is though, I’m not sure what is causing the market issue. It might be locales, or it might be something else.

Tonight’s release is going to be fantastic! I’ll do my very best to clear up everything that needs to be, and a host of patches will be available (such as animation patches, and a standard-clock patch).

Hm. Weird, I wasn’t aware that the 2.3 RUU for the Desire had been released. Has the kernel made it into any MIUI releases yet? Because that would be straight awesome, to get some of the functionality we were looking at with Froyo again thanks to the official kernel.

In the past (and probably the future), AOSP kernels and their derivatives (such as CM and MIUI) do not work with Sense, and Sense kernels do nor work with AOSP/CM/MIUI.

I’m a new user, just installed this one. I love it so far! But any idea why the phone crashes when I try to send HeyTell invites? (via text message), it freezes and the phone reboots.

These patches come from other people (Lennox has kindly been porting them across for us). When I learn about these patches myself, then I can have them in every week. As it stands, I must wait for another before I can include them.

Hey fllash, send me an email describing exactly what you do now to translate the apks, and ill explain what steps you would need to add in when adding mods etc.

I do the usual decompile with apktool, and am familiar with very basic smali edits (mostly corrections with const-strings), so all I really need to know is which bits to copy where.

Well seeing as Andy has already updated his mods, the easiest way is just to download it – http://www.mediafire.com/?03xyd323w02i2sd (volume+4way)

As far as the smali editing, i usually take the mod and the original apk, decompile both, compare the folders in winmerge, and then look through the files that show up as different to see what to add to the new apk. Also see what files are ONLY in the mod (if any, copy over to new apk also). But im impatient, generally he has the latest files up pretty quickly, and you would just need to add your strings into his apk. That would be the simpler approach.

One thing to watch out for (as you noticed with the android.policy.jar i sent you a while back), is if the public id values change, make sure to change them in any code you add, otherwise it ends up spouting nonsense :

This means, of course, that should I need to alter the appearance of some text for some reason, I could just follow it into the smali, and do a ransack (Agent Ransack) search. That was a rare moment of revelation, I tell you.

Makes sense – I’m going to add in the ‘Extended Settings Mod’ which gives you a little more control over some things (such as the carrier), if that helps.

Yep, I sure do. It’s great to have the time separating the other icons. I also set the battery to be the green bar at the top, so that means that the right side of the notification bar is reserved for Wi-fi, 3G and cell signal. It’s good stuff. But of course, it is a radical change and plenty of users, such as you, are well within your rights to prefer the usual way.

Hi. I can’t seem to make the wifi tether work with 3g since the I switched to MIUI. My pc can connect to the phone just fine but when I Browse, it would seem that it would not connect to the internet. Any help is very much appreciated.

Have a break . After you hinted about the superuser, I turned off the SU management and see the phone quite stable and reliable. I am quite content with the current version so take your time. although I might try replacing the old backup.
