BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Jeremy Maclin’s brother said that thePhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver is “fine” and that anannouncement on his unidentified illness will be made onTuesday.
“When I say definitely, we definitely will have some newstomorrow,” Andre Maclin told the Sporting News. “That’s when wefind out exactly what’s going on and when [the Maclin family] willaddress it and talk.”
Maclin, the former Kirkwood High standout and All-American atthe University of Missouri, has missed all of training camp due tothe illness.
He returned home to St. Louis last week to undergo furthertesting. on Thursday, Reid said the Eagles did not know what thereceiver’s illness was, but that he was still optimistic Maclinwould be back for the start of the season.
Maclin reported to camp late and when he arrived he lookednoticeably thinner than he had a few months earlier. In April, hesaid he had lost 15 pounds after enduring “mono-like” symptoms. Afew months later he said he regained all of the weight.
The mystery surrounding Maclin’s illness has led to massspeculation on the Internet and other outlets that the Eagles 2009No. 1 draft pick may be suffering from a career-threateningdisease.
