August 16, 2011 5:10 pm First Regime 0 Comments The Philadelphia Eagles don’t need Jeremy Maclin, but they’re going to get him back anyway.
With Jeremy Maclin reportedly returning sooner rather than later, the Philadelphia Eagles already potent offense will be even more dynamic.
There have been wild rumors on why Maclin has been out of camp for as long as he has, but the sickness doesn’t look to be severe enough to keep him from missing games.
Philadelphia has offered no timetable to his return, but Maclin’s teammates have come out and said they expect him back before the start of the season.
He'll be back. It's just a matter of when. We all know how good of a player he is. And also he's a good friend to a lot of guys on this team. So we're just missing that spark that he brings.
With Pro-Bowl receiver DeSean Jackson back from his holdout and newly acquired Steve Smith on the mend, the receiving corp is one of the best in the NFL. Add Maclin to that core with role players like Jason Avant and Riley Cooper, it’s going to be a great season for all of the wide relievers in Philly.
Although all the weapons for Mike Vick may cost Maclin touches, I expect at least 65 catches and 1000 yards with seven touchdowns this year.
Maclin has much room to grow as an athlete, and Andy Reid’s fondness of the receiver will leave him in the best possible spot to succeed.
