Browse more photos »At one point during the 2007 offseason, the Eagles had the following QBs on the roster: Donovan McNabb, rookie (at the time) Kevin Kolb, A.J. Feeley, and Kelly Holcomb. Four years later, all 4 QBs are no longer Eagles, but they would eventually become Jeremy Maclin, Nate Allen, Jamar Chaney, Casey Matthews, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, a 2nd round pick in 2012, and a 4th round pick in 2012. Here's how:

Feeley (QB - STL), Kelly Holcomb (QB - MIN), Kevin Kolb (QB - ARI), Donovan McNabb (QB - MIN), Takeo Spikes (LB - SDC), Darwin Walker (DT - CAR), Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (CB - PHI), Jeremy Maclin (WR - PHI), Jamar Chaney (LB - PHI), Nate Allen (FS - PHI), Casey Matthews (LB - PHI)
“- With the 4th rounder the Eagles acquired in the 4th round, the Eagles were able to acquire an extra 4th round pick in 2012 from the Buccaneers, and only had to move back 11 spots from 104 to 116 to do so.”
by JimmyK on Aug 14, 2011 8:38 AM EDT up reply actions Yo J. U know anywhere to get the red jerseys? i dnt knw why,but i want a couple. Thx bro.
I wasn’t aware we were already gloating and talking shit to other teams? Aside from the dream team comment being taken out of context, I haven’t heard anyone in our organization put us on a pedestal. If anything, we’ve put the Packers on a pedestal when our guys mention them and how much of a quality team they are and whatnot. Yet thats talking shit?
I’m talking about Jerimichael Finley when I say this cause I recall a tweet in which he said something like that. Dude needs to either understand who said something and what they said before he gets smacked on the field.

It’s been a fun ride. I really hope for their sake (as well as all the other reasons I want to see it happen) that they are rewarded.
by D3Keith on Aug 13, 2011 11:00 PM EDT up reply actions I wanted Vick from the start. The public’s back lashing was the day I realized animals have more rights than certain people.
Never call a Phillies, Eagles, Flyers or Sixers fans, a band-wagoner. It is disrespectful. We have suffered agony through the years. Philadelphians should be jovial for their teams' success.

by 92-74-99-96 on Aug 13, 2011 10:00 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions heh I read the title as “the 3rd best CB in the game” and started reading expecting to learn something about how we got AS. I guess I never realized that right now we have both the 3rd best CB in the game and the best 3rd CB in the game.
We had a handful of worries after last season (RCB, RG/RT, more pass rush, No. 2 QB to replace Kolb, No. 2 RB to replace Harrison, contingency plans if Graham/Allen/Justice aren’t healthy) and we literally addressed all of them.
by D3Keith on Aug 13, 2011 11:05 PM EDT up reply actions We've certainly patented the QB fleece. That’s why I was kind of disappointed VY was on a one year deal, w/o a team option for a second. Would have been nice to flip him next offseason for another pick or player.
by igglemethis on Aug 13, 2011 10:03 AM EDT up reply actions - With the Bills on the clock at pick #19 in the 2009 draft, the Eagles traded up from 21 to 19, and only had to give up a 6th round pick to do so. That 6th round pick was the one the Eagles acquired in the Kelly Holcomb trade.
by immynimmy on Aug 13, 2011 10:18 AM EDT reply actions In March of 2004, the Eagles traded A.J. Feeley for a 2nd round pick in the 2005 draft.
Can someone please tell me how the hell we did this. To this day this amazes me. I understand he was great when McNabb went down, but seriously.
by cwel87 on Aug 13, 2011 10:55 AM EDT up reply actions Yet they won’t give up a second or third for Kyle Orton. Got some real pros down there in Miami.
by packimop on Aug 13, 2011 12:30 PM EDT up reply actions so, who do you think we would have taken at 21? here’s the rest of the first round:
Who do we take? Another WR? I still think it was the right move to go up and get Maclin, but the other WRs in the first round all turned out well. I can’t see us taking Matthews that high, and Oher seems like an Eagles pick there. Since we didn’t know about the headaches at that point, I’
by phillies0100 on Aug 13, 2011 10:25 AM EDT up reply actions Oher, Nicks, or Vontae Davis would’ve probably been our 3 options imo. I don’t think we would’ve taken Percy. Not with Desean already being here.
by The Reddgie on Aug 13, 2011 1:58 PM EDT up reply actions Honestly it would probably be Eric Wood or Alex Mack... Reid loves the OL and they were really good prospects coming out.
Yes, Wild_Eagle's infamous reputation did help him get this award. But he shows that he walks the talk that he serves...with his keyboard. Wild_Eagle protects the motherland (BGN) from the evils of noobs, douche-bags, and other assholes. Although he may be crude and unnecessary, all great defenders draws the yellow flag from time to time.
Now that I think about it, we’d done our due diligence on McCoy, Donald Brown and Wells as well as Know. And then Will Beatty and all the T prospects, because Justice hadn’t had his good year yet.

by Justin F. on Aug 13, 2011 1:29 PM EDT reply actions This is yet another example of why the draft philosophies of “Best Player Available” and “Quantity over Quality” result in the best draft classes.
Some cry about turning a 2nd rd pick into multiple later round picks, but those later round picks are the ones that provide multiple starters like Chaney, Matthews, et al.
Some cry when we select a QB in the 2nd rd when we had perceived need at other positions. But that QB’s value, when flipped, results in a former 1st rd CB who’s already been to HA with “Sky’s the Limit” potential AND a 2nd rd pick that could very well end up in the top third of the round.
Or at least, that’s what I tell myself. But DAMN did the front office scare me for a couple weeks there a year ago. Thank goodness for Clay Matthews, am I right?
KK may not have been the BPA at that point in the draft, but they thought he was the best QB prospect available and player they knew that they could develop into a NFL QB (which I guess, to be fair, is still to be determined and his success in AZ will be the deciding factor) which is a very valuable asset (as we saw in the return we got from AZ even though KK is relatively unproven).
You and I have different thoughts on what KK will turn out to be. I will concede that he will never be as good as Vick was last year, but I envision KK having a decent NFL career. And I think his career would be even better had he remained an Eagle and kept honing his craft under AR and Minionwheg.
by cwel87 on Aug 14, 2011 9:47 AM EDT up reply actions Kolb would have likely been traded anyway The Eagles would have clearly seen Vick starting to out-perform Kolb at some point. And moreso if Kolb had been less that spectacular the whole season. You don’
by JesseM on Aug 13, 2011 9:51 PM EDT up reply actions At some point they were going to have to draft a guy behind Donovan even if he wasn’t “the one” it’s better to have QBs you believe in in the pipeline.
Great point Backup QBs are like condoms: it is better have one (or more than one, for that matter) and a good one at that, then to not have one at all.
