Nicolar Cage returns as the man “cursed” with a the dark powers of Ghost Rider, an invincible flaming skeleton who wreaks vengeance upon the forces of evil. In it’s current incarnation, Ghost Rider takes on the host of Johnny Blaze, leather clad and mounted on his trusty American hog (Harley) which also morphs into a flaming nightmare when Johnny morphs into the Ghost Rider. The first trailer offers much of the same as the first movie, but the key difference is… it doesn’t look half bad. The very first thing I noticed was the CGI looks markedly improved, as I watched I found not once did I have an “oh, geez, really?” reaction to lame special effects. Instead, the CGI is more detailed, better rendered and used to a much more fitting and exhilarating effect. Likewise, the action looks far more exciting, taking bigger risks, and hopefully promising to revive a “cursed” Marvel movie franchise. And, if none of this has sold you on the film… consider that Idris Elba is in the film, star of BBC’s LUTHER and recently seen in movies such as ROCKNROLLA, THE LOSERS, and THOR.
