ShareWe've seen the hot new poster for season 3 of The Good Wife and now comes the promo video which follows this theme of "Don't let the name fool you." The promo team have got to work harder this year as the show is moving to Sunday but they use this move to coincide with Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) own personal change that will occur this year.
In the promo which features Florence and the Machine covering Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love," the major events of last season are covered; primarily Peter (Chris Noth) and Kalinda's (Archie Panjabi) prior indiscretion with Alicia's less than happy reaction to this information, followed by Alicia finally acting on her desires with Will (Josh Charles). This is intercut with some new footage which shows Alicia rocking some new bangs, with Eli (Alan Cumming) commenting that "you [Alicia] seem different."
We also get to see Alicia in court saying that "I'm just getting started" which seems to be setting the tone for this season showing a bolder more confident (soon to be ex?) Mrs Florrick. The colour palette is strong on the red as it always is with this show and this strikes a strong contrast with the black and white promo photos (like the one above).
There is nothing new with Alicia and Will in this promo which I am all for avoiding till the episode airs, the promo for the season 2 finale revealed a bit too much of the cliffhanger which ruined the surprise. As this is just a teaser for season 3 I would imagine that there will be more before it premieres on September 25, particularly as it is on a new day.
There is some more casting news that has been announced since our last Good Wife news piece including who will play Owen's (Dallas Roberts) love interest and who has just been cast as Eli's ex-wife. TVLine got both exclusive scoops and confirmed that Michael Ardern (Kings, Source Code) will be playing a philosophy professor who will be recurring as Owen's potential boyfriend. In the not so happy end of the relationship spectrum Parker Posey (Parks and Recreation, Bored to Death) has been cast as Eli's ex-wife and I can already imagine how acerbic this relationship might be. We have so far been introduced to Eli's daughter Marissa (Sarah Steele) and I am happy that we will get to explore more of Eli's past. Posey is slated to appear in an October episode and this is not the first time that the pair have starred together, with previous film outings in The Anniversary Party and Josie and the Pussycats.
Whilst there are no new updates on Lisa Edlestein's character it sure seems that she is having a terrific time on set- particularly with former Sports Night co-star Josh Charles, with both of them tweeting on set pictures which can be seen here and here.
Emma has a passion for both ends of the pop culture spectrum and you are just as likely to find her watching HBO as you are The CW. All that matters is a great story or if that fails some amazing fashion. Emma would most like to hang out at the offices of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce.
